Reflection
By: Benj Santiago
Many of us today walk the “road to Emmaus” discouraged by inflation, job insecurity, disaster risks, and an uncertain future due to conflicts and war.
Like the disciples, we often feel confused and defeated. Yet Jesus walks with them quietly, explaining meaning in their pain.
This Gospel teaches us that God is present even when we don’t recognize Him. For our country, this is a reminder that national healing requires reflection, dialogue, and faith.
True change begins when hearts are opened, truth is spoken, and people choose compassion. Hope is restored when we recognize Christ in service, unity, and shared sacrifice.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, as we walk our own road of uncertainty and fear, stay beside us. Open our eyes to Your presence in our struggles with inflation, insecurity, and disaster.
Teach our nation to seek truth, choose compassion, and embrace unity. Restore our hope, and guide us toward healing and shared sacrifice. Amen.
